Customer questions & answers
Question: This product arrived but i am new to this process. was hoping for instructions but there are none. where can i find some type of process to follow?
Answer: I’m using them right now and was in the same boat...no instructions. I filled with seed starter mix...do not just use dirt from the garden. I wet the mix, then planted the seeds according to the packet instructions. I covered them with the lids and kept the vents closed until at least half were starting to sprout, then opened the vents. When all seeds had sprouted in a tray I removed the covers and then just checked daily and misted with water if the tops started to get dry. You really only need the greenhouse covers to germinate. I’m using grow lights and so far I’ve had good luck.
Question: When might you want a 6 cell over a 12 cell?
Answer: 6 cell trays are suitable for large seeds, such as potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and so on. They grow faster and need more space.
Question: Once grown how do we transfer the plant to the ground ?
Answer: ust remove the cup tray from the bottom tray. Give each cup a gentle squeeze to loosen the root ball and soil. Gently invert the tray while supporting the seedlings until you can gently remove them from their cups. Also, I would probably transfer them to small pint size pots and continue to grow them until they get hardier before I put them in the ground!
